Wastach Front PFS Winterfest 2013

Salutations!

Our new plans for the newly dubbed Winterfest are ready to reveal! This is the first of four quarter area-wide mega events that we plan to run in the Wasatch Valley this year.

Our first mega-event will be hosted in the Pleasant Grove and Orem area where we have had the longest established PFS presence in this state. In fact, Blakfyre Games is home to the first level 12 group around!  So, it’s only fitting that we start there.

On Jan 19th, we’re going to hold an all day event at Blakfyre in Pleasant Grove.  It will start at 9am with a GM101 seminar.  This will be a great opportunity for those who are interested in GM’ing a great  foundation in knowing some of the in’s and outs of being a good table judge.  For those who have GM’d (or DM’d) for previous systems, you’ll learn some of the key differences and mechanics behind Pathfinder Society.  Check out our previous GM101 post for details on topics covered.

Then, at noon and 6pm, we will be running special sessions of the newest Season 4 scenarios.  Included in those sessions, I will be running Season’s 3 EX scenario.  This scenario may only be run by 4+ star GMs or Venture Officers only, meaning that for some, this will be the only opportunity they will have to play them.  Priority to sit in on these EX-Scenarios will be given to 1 star or higher PFS GMs in Utah!

This event will be followed up by our first ever, Wasatch Front Pathfinder Society Winterfest on Saturday, Feb 16th!  We will be meeting at Dragon’s Keep in Provo, one of the oldest (if not THE oldest) gaming stores in the state.  The basement has five gaming rooms, three of which are separate rooms, making this perfect for a 5-9 table event.  Running from 9am – midnight, we will have 5 tables (or more if there’s demand) of 3 slots each, for a total of 15 sessions of gaming awesomeness!

We will be running mostly late-Season 3 and Season 4 scenarios for more veteran players, as well as First Steps for our newer players.  There will be a charge of $16-20 (We are finalizing the price) per person.  Included in that price will be a ton of giveaways (Including Pathfinder books, dice, figurines, and more), as well as pizza and drinks for dinner!  On top of that, we will have boon giveaways courtesy of Paizo!  If you’re a Pathfinder Society player in the valley, you do NOT want to miss out.

GMs and players from northern areas are encouraged to carpool to save gas and the environment.  For those who are assisting with GM’ing to any of these events from the Salt Lake area, I will offer to drive in my classic 2003 Dodge Caravan!
